Abstract:

Objective:To investigate and analyze the relationship between internet addiction disorder(IAD)and its affecting factors among undergraduates in Dali University. The study aims to provide theoretical evidence for prevention, intervention and treatment of the disorder. Methods:Undergraduates who were from grade 1 to grade 4 in Dali University were surveyed by using stratified-cluster sampling method. The use of internet and general information were acquired through questionnaires of IAD. Results:The prevalence rate of IAD was 16.5% among the university students. The prevalence rate of IAD of male was higher than female. These factors which included age, sex, relationship with classmate, the aim and first time to surf the internet, lasting time of internet use were significant between IAD and No-IAD(P<0.05). We analyzed relationship between IAD and its affecting factors among undergraduates by using Logistic regression model. We could find that the factors which included sex, first time and lasting time to surf the internet, taking part in sports were dangerous, and the factor of relationship with classmate was protective. Conclusion:The prevalence rate of IAD is high. It is a problem of public health, which affects their physical and mental health. Thus,it is necessary to take an early intervention.
