Abstract:

Objective: To investigate serological phenotype and to detect irregular antibody among Rh(D)negative blood donors in Dali Prefecture. Methods: 136 803 blood samples were detected to determine the Rh phenotypes through serological tests and the irregular antibodies were screened through antiglobulin tests. Results: 209 blood samples were Rh(D)negative(0.15%). The irregular antibodies were found in one Rh(D)negative sample(0.48%). The serological phenotypes included 123 ccdee(58.85%), 67 Ccdee(32.06%), 7 CCdee(3.35%), 6 ccdEe(2.87%), 5 CcdEe(2.39%)and 1 CcdEe(0.48%). Among all Rh(D)negative volunteer blood donors, the distribution of A, B, O and AB blood types was A>O>B>AB. Conclusion: The study of serological phenotype and irregular antibody of Rh(D)negative blood donors would be helpful for enhancing the clinical safety and timely blood
transfusion.
