Objective: To study the protective effect of CⅡ-3 extracted from Periplaneta americana on myocardial ischemia in rats
induced by isoproterenol (ISO). Methods: The myocardial ischemia model was made by using subcutaneous injection of ISO in rats. The change of S-T segment and Q-T interval of electrocardiogram (ECG) was observed, and the content of LDH, CK, SOD and MDA in serum was measured. The pathological lesion of myocardium were observed. Results: Three types of dosage of CⅡ-3(low, 25 mg/kg;mid, 50 mg/kg; high, 100 mg/kg)all significantly reduced S-T segment deviation and shortened Q-T interval(P < 0. 05). Middle and high dosage of CⅡ-3 significantly reduced the content of MDA( P < 0. 01) and raised the activity of SOD (P < 0. 05). High dosage of CⅡ-3 reduced the activity of CK (P < 0. 05), but three dosage of CⅡ-3 had the subtle effect on the activity of LDH. Pathological examination showed that three dosages of CⅡ-3 could reduce the pathological lesion of myocardium in rats to varying degrees. Conclusion: CⅡ-3 had some protective effect on myocardial ischemia in rats induced by ISO.
