Observation of the Cooling Effects between Ice Blanket and Ice Blanket Supplemented by Medicine on
Patients with Central High Fever

Abstract:

Objective: To observe the cooling effects of ice blanket supplemented by anal administration of indometacin suppositories on patients with central high fever. Methods: In addition to conventional treatment, two cooling methods i.e. ice blanket and ice blanket supplemented by anal administration of indometacin suppositories, were adopted, and their effects on patients were compared. Results: The difference in cooling effects between two methods was statistically significant（P＜0.05）. Conclusion: The cooling effects of ice blanket supplemented by anal administration of indometacin suppositories were apparently better than those of ice blanket alone.
