On the Cultural Connotation of Tibetan Auspicious Door Decorative Patterns in Northwest Yunnan

Abstract:

The art of the Tibetan residential buildings in northwest Yunnan is a wonderful work of the snowy plateau. The Tibetan
door decoration art combines the Tibetan Buddhism and Bon Religion cultural connotation together. It is the unity of material and spiritual, religious and secular, as well as practical and aesthetic elements. This paper analyzes the auspicious door decorative patterns of "lotus", "auspicious wishes" and "lion", and the characteristics of color, which reveals the multiple connotations of totemism,Tibetan Buddhism and blessing culture.
