Abstract:

Objective: To understand the differences between whole blood(WB)mode and pre- dilution(PD)mode when using
Sysmex XN1000, the automatic hematology analyzer, to test blood cells. Methods: To compare the precision of two modes in testing
White blood cells(WBC), red blood cells(RBC), hemoglobin(Hb), hematocrit(HCT), platelets(PLT). Results: The precision of each
test in whole blood mode corresponded with the requirements of precision in automatic blood analyzer;the precision of each testin predilution
mode exceed the requirements of precision in automatic blood analyzer, t test showed that three group testing results of the two
modes had significant differences in precision(P<0.05). The precision of PLT is the lowest. Conclusion: The whole blood mode,
instead of the pre-dilution mode, should be adopted to test blood cells. The pre-dilution mode can only be adopted for infants and
patients who are not suitable for venous blood collection.
