Abstract: Objective: To study the visible light photocatalytic activity of Bi-doped SrTiO3. Methods: Bismuth(Bi)doped strontium titanate(SrTiO3)nanometer powders with different ratios of Bi were synthesized by chemical coprecipitation method. The structure of the photocatalytic catalysts was characterized by XPS, XRD, HRTEM, and UV-vis DRS. When Rhodamine B(RhB)was used as the model pollutant, and 1 000 W halogen lamp(λ >420 nm)as visible light source, the effects of different doping amount of Bi on the photocatalytic activity of SrTiO3 was investigated. Results: An appropriate amount of Bi doping to SrTiO3 can improve the visible light photocatalytic activity of SrTiO3, and 3 wt. % Bi-SrTiO3 has the highest visible light photocatalytic activity for the degradation of RhB. Conclusion: The doping of Bi can extend the visible light response range, and significantly improve the visible light photocatalytic activity of SrTiO3.
