On the Practice of PBL Teaching Mode in Experiment of Preventive Medicine in International Students of

Abstract:

Objective: To study the PBL teaching mode for improving the effect in preventive medicine experiment teaching of
international students, to explore suitable mode for international student education, and to improve their level of mastering knowledge
with preventive medicine. Methods: A cluster stratified sample of all international medical students of 2005-2011 in Dali University
were investigated. The traditional LBL teaching method was used in 207 students of 2005 to 2008, while the PBL teaching method was
used in 251 students of 2009 to 2011 for evaluating the preventive medicine experiment results. Results: The preventive medicine
experiment grades different grade students of under the same teaching methods had statistical difference(P=0.000). The grades in
different teaching modes had statistical difference(t=21.063, P=0.000). Conclusion: Comparing with traditional LBL teaching mode,
the preventive medicine experiment grades of international students were improved significantly under the PBL teaching mode.
