Diagnosis and Treatment of Poisonous Snake Bites in Honghe Prefecture of Yunnan

Abstract

Abstract: 〔Abstract〕Objective: To make a conclusion of the experience of diagnosing and treating bites by venomous snakes in Honghe
Prefecture. Methods: We collected and summarized the data of diagnosing and treating the patients with bites by venomous snakes
admitted in the First People's Hospital of Honghe Prefecture during the recent six years. Results: The combination of adder antivenom
and coral snake antivenom was an effective treatment for bites by most of venomous snakes in Honghe Prefecture. Conclusion: Adder
antivenom combined with coral snake antivenom can be taken as the method of treating bites by venomous snakes within the region.
