Abstract: 〔Abstract〕Objective: To evaluate the effects of alcohol consumption on arsenic metabolism and methylation capacity of the
population exposed to arsenic by Meta-analysis. Methods: Used the computer to search the articles about the effects of alcohol on
arsenic metabolism and methylation in CNKI, PubMed, Medline, VP and Wanfang databases. Review Manager 5.3.5 software was used
for Meta-analysis. Results: A total of 9 articles were analyzed, including 4 077 subjects. The result of Meta-analysis showed that the
iAs%, MMA% ,DMA% ,PMI and SMI in urine of the drinking group were 0.72,1.42,-2.27, 0.07,-1.54 and 95%CI were[0.14,1.31],
[0.84,2.00][, -3.32,-1.22][, -0.16,0.29][, -1.91,-1.17], respectively. It was shown that iAs% and MMA% of the drinking group were
higher than the non-drinking group, but DMA% and SMI were lower. Conclusion: Alcohol consumption may be one of the factors
influencing arsenic metabolism and methylation of the population exposed to arsenic.
