Abstract: Great powers in world politics need to have various political abilities, among which, self-control should be a necessity.
History shows that the lack of self-control has become the root of international social unrest and insecurity. The development of nuclear
weapons is an ethical constraint on the self-control of major powers, while the in-depth development of globalization and the increase
of various uncertainties in the international environment have become the realistic source of boosting the self-control. On the path of
peaceful development, China has been always paying attention to learning and reflection in practice. The correct judgment of Chinas
national conditions in the primary stage of socialism, and the development process of Chinas history and the practice of Chinas
national development strategy in the future all show that China has strong self-control. In terms of maintaining the peace and stability
of the international community and providing public goods, China is bound to bear important international responsibility in the future.
