Abstract: Based on the data from the Fenghuang Mountain Bird Banding Station from 1999 to 2022, the diversity of banding birds was comprehensively analyzed. The results showed that a total of 282 bird species with 64 558 individuals were recorded over 24 years, belonging to 13 orders and 50 families. Passerine birds accounted for 72.70% of the total species and 52.55% of the total count, while Muscicapidae birds accounted for 19.50% and 23.29% respectively. The dominant species were Ardeola bacchus, Lanius cristatus, Ficedula parva and Calliope calliope. The majority of birds were resident species (136 species, accounting for 48.23%), followed by Oriental species among breeding birds (124 species, accounting for 43.97%).Among the recorded species, 28 were under national key protection, 8 were listed in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, and 26 were listed in the Red List of Chinese Vertebrates. One new bird species was recorded in China and four species were recorded in Yunnan Province. The bird diversity index was 4.061 8, the uniformity index was 0.719 9, and the dominance index was 0.031 2. The bird diversity at Fenghuang Mountain was higher than that at neighboring bird migration sites such as Xiongguan and JinshanYakou. It is recommended to continue the bird census work during the spring season and strengthen the research on bird migration patterns and monitoring of avian influenza in migratory waterbirds.
