Abstract: Objective: To identify and analyze the polypeptides of immunomodulatory albumin( ALB) from the Zhiciweipi. Methods: LCMS/
MS and bioinformatics software combined with homologous sequence comparison and evolutionary analysis were applied to
identifying the components after enzymolysis of Zhiciweipi and analyzing the immunomodulatory core proteins and peptides obtained
from the screening. Results: ALB was the key immunomodulatory protein and the active peptide protein sequence was
RHPYFYAPELLYF. Evolutionary tree analysis indicated that the ALB of Erinaceus europaeus was 100% homologous with that of
Elephantulus edwardii, with the closest genetic relationship. The homologous sequence comparison analysis showed that ALB of both
species contained 608 amino acids, with very similar amino acid sequence, and the active polypeptide protein sequence
RHPYFYAPELLYF had no difference. Conclusion: Polypeptides of ALB in Erinaceus europaeus and Elephantulus edwardii have similar
biological functions, and this provides part of the basic evidence for the clinical substitutability of rare animals.
