Abstract:
Objective: To study the effect of ethanol extracts of Vicatia thibertica de Boiss on immunologic and hematopoietic functions of cyclophosphamide-induced immunosuppressed mice. Methods: Immunosuppressed mice were induced by intraperitoneal injection of cyclophosphamide and were treated intragastrically with different doses of Vicatia thibertica de Boiss. After treatment, the immune organ weight and index of mice, the carbon clearance ability of mice, the levels of hepatic SOD and MDA, the routine blood examination, and the contents of serum hemolysin were tested. Results: Compared with the model group, high, medium and low dose of ethanol extracts of Vicatia thibertica de Boiss improved the immune organ weight and index, and the carbon clearance ability of mice, enhanced the levels of hepatic SOD and MDA, increased the content of leukocytes and platelet in peripheral blood content and raised the content of serum hemolysin. Conclusion: The ethanol extracts of Vicatia thibertica de Boiss could enhance the immunologic and hematopoietic functions of cyclophosphamide-induced immunosuppressed mice.
