Abstract:

〔Abstract〕Objective: To explore the effect of hypertension self-management. Methods: 103 inpatients with hypertension admitted
to the First People's Hospital of Qujing from January 2013 to June 2014 were chosen as the control group and treated with traditional
hypertension management methods. Another 105 impatients with hypertension from July 2014 to January 2016 were chosen as the
experimental group taught with hypertension self-management. Six months later, we compared the changes of blood pressure and the
awareness rate of knowledge of hypertension management between the two groups. Results: The blood pressure of the patients in the
experimental group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001); the awareness
rate of hypertension management in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was
statistically significant (P<0.001). Conclusion: Hypertension self-management can help patients manage hypertension effectively, so
it is worthy of clinical application. At the same time, the method should be extended to the community so as to benefit more patients
with hypertension.
