A Related Research on Parenting Styles and Emotional Intelligence of College Students with Left-Behind Experience

Abstract:

〔Abstract〕 In order to discuss the interrelationship between parental upbringing and emotional intelligence of left-behind college students, 665 college students were investigated and studied by using the Evaluation Scale of Parenting Mode and the Emotional Intelligence Power Table. The results show: ①College students' parents have a warm understanding of emotions, and there are significant differences in fathers' severe punishment, excessive interference and refusal to deny whether they have been left behind; ② The parents of college students with left-behind experience are emotionally warm and refuse to deny that there is a significant difference in the length of stay, and there is no significant difference in emotional intelligence in the length of stay; ③ There is a significant positive correlation between the emotional intelligence and the emotional warmth of left-behind college students (r=0.270, Ρ<0.01), and there is a significant negative correlation with the father's severe punishment(r=-0.135,Ρ<0.01); there is a significant positive correlation between emotional intelligence and the emotional warmth of the mother(r=0.298,Ρ<0.01), and a significant negative correlation with the severe punishment of the mother(r=-0.156, Ρ<0.01). ④ Parents' emotional warmth has a significant positive impact on emotional intelligence, and parental punishment has a significant negative impact on emotional intelligence.
