A Review on the Translation Effects of Oral Literature of Yunnan Minority

Abstract:

The translation of Yunnan oral literature an important part of Chinese literature is an indispensable part of Chinese culture going abroad. By clarifying the significance of translating the oral literature of Yunnan ethnic minorities this paper analyzes the main problems existing at present. There are few translation achievements and the number of translators is far from meeting the requirements the research content is concentrated but not systematic the research method is single and the depth of that is not enough there are massive versions of fairy tales which makes it difficult to choose the proper version to translate. In the future research we should find corresponding solutions from macro and micro levels. From a macro perspective apart from relying on the government cultural research institutes universities and publishing houses Yunnan's advantages as a tourist province are supposed to be fully utilized and the oral literature works related to minorities should be combines to the greatest extent when tour guides make tourist publicity materials or introduce scenic spots. From the micro level it is necessary to closely combine the translation purposes of Yunnan oral literature select appropriate texts and translation strategies and improve the translators' cultural awareness and sense of responsibility of ethnic minorities so as to effectively enhance the dissemination effect of Yunnan oral literature as well as culture and help build a good international image of Yunnan ethnic minorities and Yunnan province.
