Objective:To investigate the dry eye prone pathogenesis after pterygium excision and the avoidance of misdiagnosis as viral kerati!is.Methods:The clinical data of 38 eyes from 26 patients were analyzed.Results:All cases were conducted the pterygium excision and were postoperative dry eye misdiagnosed as viral keratitis.After discontinuation of antiviral therapy,all eases were cured through the treatment of dry eye.Conclusion:Clinicians should fully grasp the pathogenesis of dry eye and the diferential diagnosis of dry eye from viral keratitis in order to avoid misdiagnosis and delayed treatment.
