To analyze the impact of wetland management, especially removal of aquatic plants, on waterbirds diversity, a survey of
waterbirds diversity was conducted by direct count method at Luoshijiang artificial wetland and Shapingwan natural wetland in Erhai lake from November 1, 2010 to January 2, 2011. The results showed that: 淤after removal of aquatic plants, the waterbirds diversity indexes of the artificial wetland and the natural wetland decreased from 2.08 and 1.86 to 1.46 and 1.41, respectively, might caused by reduction of the foods and safety of waterbirds;于in contrast with to the reduction of number of species and densities of waterbirds in the natural wetland, these parameters increased in the artificial wetland after removal of aquatic plants. This might relate with the sharply increasing of one species. Finally, suggestions for effective management and conservation of waterbirds were present.
