Studies on Breeding SPF Mice in BSC at Ordinary Environment

Objective: In order to explore the feasibility of breeding clean mice in BSC system within general environment.Methods: 60 SPF mice of introduction were kept in BSC systems. When the first filial generation mice were 1 ，2 and 3 month old，five mice were randomly selected and made quality inspection. And the quality inspection would be in accordance with GB 14922-2001 (SPF standards). Results: The items of 30 mice were in line with the requirements of GB 14922-2001. Conclusion: In the strictly controlled conditions, breeding SPF mice in BSC at conventional facility is feasible. Purification in the use of BSC is effective and it can meet the environmental requirements of SPF mice.
