Abstract:

Objective: To compare the efficacy of traditionary fusiform-shape excision, micro incision curettage and radiofrequency
ablation in the treatment of osmidrosis. Methods: One hundred and eighty-six patients with osmidrosis were treated by traditionary fusiform shape excision method （20 cases）, micro incision curettage （116 cases）, and radiofrequency ablation （50 cases）. The therapeutic effects and complications were retrospectively analyzed. Results: The patients were followed up for 3 months to 1 year. The cure rate was 100%, 97.7% and 68.4%, respectively. Conclusion: All three methods are effective for the treatment of osmidrosis. The odor symptom could be improved a lot with traditionary fusiform shape excision method, which however would cost lots on complication, aesthetic improvement and convalescent period. The radiofrequency ablation was with smallest injuries and high relapse rate. Micro incision curettage was efficacy and aesthetic.
