Investigation into Mode Relation and Using Principles of Multimodal English Class

Abstract:

With the development of multimodal teaching methodology and the importation of multimedia teaching equipment, multimodal discourse analysis of university English class is increasingly important. From a multimodal perspective, the videos of excellent English teachers' classes are marked and analyzed. On one hand, description of multimodality in successful English class reveals enlightenment for foreign language teaching; on the other hand, discussion of the relation between different modes and their different effect helps to construct principles of designing, selecting and manipulating modes. Modes coordinate together and construct meanings in classroom teaching, which works cooperatively to achieve teaching goals.
