Analysis of Difficult Cross Matching in Dali Area from 2010 to 2012

Abstract:

Objective: To comprehensively study the difficult blood-matching sample which was sent from hospitals in Dali area
within the past 3 years. Methods: The results of difficult cross matching in Dali Blood Donor Center from 2010 to 2012 were conducted retrospective analysis. Results: There were irregular antibodies in 18 of 26 samples and the highest rate (27.7%)in Rh blood group system. Though reported agglutination tested by coagulation ammonia test method or cassette antiglobulin test, 8 samples were found no abnormality through investigation by antihuman globulin test in our institution. Conclusion: There was a higher rate of irregular antibodies in Rh blood group system. Antihuman globulin test should not be ignored which could lead misunderstanding of agglutination.
