Treatment and Prevention of Complications after Digital Forming Titanium Plate Cranioplasty

Abstract:

Objective: To explore the common complications and prevention after the application of digital forming titanium plate
cranioplasty to decompressive craniectomy. Methods: To summarize the causes of postoperative complications and treatment by
reviewing the clinical data from 86 cases with digital forming titanium plate cranioplasty. Results: 14 patients had different degrees of
complications, including 2 cases of secondary hemorrhage, 4 cases of subcutaneous hydrops, 2 cases of titanium plate exposure and 6 cases of secondary epilepsy. Conclusion: Digital forming titanium plate cranioplasty was the conventional surgery of skull defects and reducing complications was important for improving the success rate of surgery.
