Abstract:

Objective: To observe the treatment of Baoshen decoction on chronic nephritis caused by spleen-kidney deficiency.
Methods: Sixty patients with chronic nephritis caused by spleen-kidney deficiency diagnosed by traditional Chinese medicine（TCM）
were randomly divided into treatment group（30 cases）and control group（30 cases）. Each group was given conventional Western
medicine treatment: high quality low protein diet, irbesartan tablets（75 mg qd）. In addition, the treatment group orally took Baoshen
decoction 200 mL qd for 4 weeks. The proteinuria, TCM syndromes, efficacy of TCM syndrome before and after treatment were
compared. Results: Proteinuria decreased after the treatment in both groups, the difference was statistically significant（P <0.05）. And
the proteinuria of treatment group was much improved than the control group, the difference was statistically significant（P < 0.05）.
Conclusion: Baoshen decoction has an outstanding curative effect for chronic nephritis caused by spleen-kidney deficiency.
