Abstract:

Objective: To analyze the death causes and cis-position of residents at Binchuan County in 2013, and to provide a
scientific basis for the prevention and control measures. Methods: The death causes were classified according to International
Classification of Disease ICD-10, and then were statistically analyzed by the death surveillance data cleansing and analysis software
and Excel2003. Results: ①The mortality rate at Binchuan County in 2013 was 630.89/100 000. Male mortality was 725.72/100 000,
female mortality was 531.74/100 000. The ratio of male to female was 1.36:1. ②The top 5 causes of death were circulatory system
diseases, respiratory system diseases, injuries, malignant tumors and digestive system diseases, accounting for 89.25% of the total
death toll. Conclusion: Chronic diseases were the main cause of death at Binchuan County, and chronic non-communicable diseases
were the major death cause. Therefore the prevention and intervention of chronic diseases are the focus of future work.
