摘要： 1259年，蒙哥战死钓鱼城，蒙古内部出现了王位之争。1260年，忽必烈派遣郝经使宋，尝试与宋廷议和，虽未达成正式协议，但宋蒙战事已趋于缓和，至忽必烈下诏正式攻宋之前，双方进入长达七年的和缓期。在此期间，宋廷调夏贵为新任蜀帅。夏贵上任即对蒙军展开了一系列的军事行动，在任期内，攻打虎啸城，两度亲自领兵攻向成都，克复广安和大良城，对宋蒙战局造成了重大影响。一方面，宋军取得的战果改变了川东战区的被动形势，使蒙军“据夔灭蜀”的战略受挫，从而缓和了蒙军的进攻；另一方面，夏贵的顽强抵抗对于蒙军将战争的主战场从四川转向荆襄也产生了一定的影响。

Abstract: In 1259, due to the death of Mongke Khan in battle, struggles for the throne began in Mongolia. In 1260, Kublai Khan tried to make peace with the Song Dynasty by sending Hao Jing as his envoy to the Song Dynasty. Although the two sides failed to reach a formal agreement, the war between the Song and Mongolia became less intense. Before Kublai Khan ordered an official attack on the Song,the two sides entered a moderation period for 7 years. During the period,the Song imperial court appointed Xia Gui as the new Sichuan commander. During his term of office, Xia attacked the Huxiao Castle, led his troops to attack Chengdu twice and recaptured Guang'an County and the Daliang Castle. His military moves had a significant impact on the war situation. On the one hand, the victories saved the Song army out of the passive situation in the eastern Sichuan theater and frustrated Mongolian strategical intention of "annihilating Sichuan by occupying Kuizhou". On the other hand, the strong resistance led by Xia Gui to a certain degree drove the major Mongolian army from Sichuan to Jingzhou-Xiangyang area.
