Abstract: The key to the construction of rural culture is to cultivate and practice the core socialist values. The core socialist values must be rooted in the rural areas and be integrated into the construction of rural culture. Examining from the perspective of core socialist values,we may find"internal" and"external" problems in the current rural cultural construction,which presents an urgent need for the core socialist values to lead the rural cultural construction. According to the core socialist values,we should follow the principles of"critical inheritance","creative transformation" and"creative development" so as to ensure the healthy development of material and spiritual culture,and improve system construction in rural areas. In this way,the rural areas may become the supportive resources and effective carrier of the core socialist values cultivation,and hence the unity of the core socialist values cultivation and rural culture construction.
