Abstract:

Longchuan River, originating from the Gaoligong Mountains, which is at the junction of the northwest of Baoshan
in Yunnan Province and the south of Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture, belongs to the Irrawaddy River system. Although
the Longchuan River boasts rich tourism resources in Tengchong County, tourism in this basin has not been well developed for
lack of understanding of the importance of tourism and the comparatively superficial interpretation of the cultural landscapes.
The author makes a comprehensive exploration of the cultural landscape of Longchuan River Basin in Tengchong County from
the aspects of ecology, history, nationality, and religion, etc. trying to reveal the cultural identity of the tourism resources in this
basin, and present the“culture”concept for tourism development of Longchuan River Basin in Tengchong county: continuation
of the historical profile, discovery of symbiotic space, etc. The author holds that tourism development in this basin must be based
on the“Grand Tourism”concept,that is,tourism development through closer regional cooperation,industrial integration,and
community participation,etc.
