Abstract:
In the process of global low-carbon development,Africa is taking active moves by making policies on low-carbon development and climate change,by promoting clean energy development, and by establishing carbon finance and carbon market system through international cooperation. In low-carbon development,Africa has the advantages of immense reserves of clean energy and carbon sinks and hence a great prospect. On the other hand,Africa has to face a series of challenges of leapfrog development, lack of propulsion, and failure to combining low-carbon development with efforts against climate change. If Africa could take the opportunity of global low-carbon development, keep away from the trap of traditional industrialization, low-carbon development will be the new starting point and driving power of its healthy advancement.
