Social Function of the Representatives of Personage Without Party#br# Affiliation in the New Era

Abstract:

Representatives of personage without party affiliation have been playing an important role in China’s political life and
social management. In order for the representatives without party affiliation to effectively play their social function,Weng’an
County in Guizhou province has taken the following measures: actively cultivating reserves,strengthening ideological guidance
and scientific management,emphasizing education of the representatives of personage without party affiliation,strengthening
appraisal,selection and appointment of cadres without party affiliation. Of course,there are also room for improvement in the
representatives’ social functioning in Weng’an County. Some of them failed to adequately understand and define their roles,
some are not truly representative of the public,and they also need to improve their political sense and ability to work with the
ruling party. In order to bring the social function of the representatives without party affiliation into better play in the new era,
effective measures need to be taken: helping the representatives to clearly define their role,enabling them to function more
effectively,improving their political sense and cooperation capacity,highlighting role models and emphasizing self-education,
and concerning about livelihood,listening to public opinions and staying close to the public. These measures aim to inspire the
representatives without party affiliation to become new and better representatives required by socialist harmonious society and
socialist democratic politics in the new era.
