Viewpoints on Clean-Fingered Politics and Criticism of Corruption in the Book of Songs

Abstract: The Book of Songs advocates an incorruptible government,and love of citizen. And it opposes a harsh government and luxury enjoyment. It stresses that government officials must adhere to integrity and shouldn't fear coercion;they must be self-disciplined keeping away from the corruption;they must also restrain family members,friends and subordinates from corruption so as to better serve the country. The Book of Songs also makes relentless criticism on corrupt government officials. It points out that serious consequences might arise if no containment was introduced. The viewpoints on clean-fingered politics in this book are an important part of the thought of "rule of virtue" in Zhou Dynasty.
