Abstract: Classical Literature and art and the art of book design are different forms of art. Literature expresses the "beauty" of life in the form of language,while book design in visual form. People often admire the broad and profound beauty of literature and art,but fail to appreciate the craftsmanship of book design due to its novelty and professionalism. In fact,writers' and designers' works are of the same creative nature,only presented in different ways. And because literature is the foundation of all art forms,the support and guidance of literature on book design is reflected in various aspects of design. This paper mainly explore the implicitness,conciseness,rhythmicity,contrastiveness,connection and harmony in book design from the perspective of classical literature and art,focusing on the similarities of the two,and hoping to help people understand book design art from the perspective of classical literature improve people's aesthetic taste,and enrich people's spiritual and cultural life.
