Abstract: Daisaku Ikeda has always thought highly of the value of "soft" peace culture to world peace, and his thoughts on culture are distinctively characteristic of pacifism. His peace proposals on SGI anniversaries since 1983 are the embodiment of his thoughts on peace culture, among which the peace proposals after 2000 present new features. A study on the peace proposals after 2000 reveals that Ikeda, based on the SGI movement, has endeavored to build the peace culture through dialogues and with support from the public and NGOs. This suggests a new approach to a peaceful 21th century when everyone enjoys equality and dignity, and provides reference for the reform and development of China.

Key words: Daisaku Ikeda, peace, the public, dialogue, human revolution
