Abstract: Petroleum spirit,the spirit of China's petroleum industry created by generations of petroleum workers and engineers since 1949,is an exhibition of Chinese national spirit. Inheriting and carrying forward the revolutionist spirits of the Communist Party of China and Chinese people, is also an embodiment of the zeitgeist of today's China. With comprehensive and close cooperation with petroleum enterprises,petroleum universities serve as an origin of talent and research resources for petroleum industry. It is necessary for petroleum universities to study and bring the petroleum spirit to its full play in ideological education of the teaching stuff and students. Such efforts in promoting party building will lay a consolidate foundation in education and research in universities.
