Abstract: The public health policy on the disposal of the corpse of patients with infectious diseases is not only a medical problem, but also a political problem, which is a test for the governance ability of government. The current legal provisions and administrative regulations about corpse disposal for infectious disease patients cannot fully handle the cases of Covid-19 patients. After the outbreak of Covid-19, corpse disposal of Covid-19 patients in China follows regulatory documents by related authorities, different from other countries, and the design, start and implementation of relevant systems need to be further reinforced in terms of scientificity and legitimacy. At present, efforts should be made in making scientific public health policy to pay respect to individual rights, and to improve systematization and synergy of legal systems for corpse disposal of infectious disease patients, so as to promote healthier growth of public health services and funeral services.
