Abstract: Network position transition is an important way in which new marginal enterprises develop and grow. Taking SenseTime as the research subject, this paper uses the longitudinal single case study method to construct an analytical framework based on the theoretical logic of "situation-process-result" from the perspective of resource action, and explores the internal mechanism of network position transition of marginal enterprises. The research finds that the network position transition is the result of the matching and co-evolution of resource scenario and enterprise strategy, and the key to the network position transition of marginal enterprises lies in correct understanding of their own resource scenario, in selecting, formulating and implementing adaptive development strategies, and in realizing the effective adaptation of resource scenario, strategic orientation, resource-foucsed action and network capabilities. With the interactive adaptation, optimization and upgrading of resource-focused actions and network capabilities in different resource scenarios, the key components of network position evolve in a dynamic way, promoting the network position of marginal enterprises to evolve in the pattern of "edge network position—local central network position—and global central network position".

Key words: resource scenario, strategic orientation, resource-focused action, network capability, network position transition
