Abstract: It is necessary to reinforce emergency ideological and political work in oil exploration industry as oil exploration activities are mostly carried out in unfrequented areas with unexpected happenings.Based on two emergency cases the author experienced，this paper discusses the backgrounds，objectives and methods of ideological and political work in oil exploration industry，suggesting that emergency ideological and political work should be based on normaltime ideological and political work with emphasis on quick response and construction of longterm mechanism of ideological and political work.The author also points out that ideological and political work in oil exploration enterprises should give priority to informativeness and precautions.
