Abstract: The lowcarbon economy，as a new economic model with low energy consumption，low pollution，and lowemissions，is now popular with many nations around the world.The best choice for China to develop lowcarbon economy is to develop natural gas energy.This article mainly analyzes the natural gas industry in the context of the development and inadequacies of the lowcarbon economy，and at the same time proposes solutions to the problems，so that natural gas can play a better role in lowcarbon economy.Technically，natural gas exploitation should be improved.Pricing mechanism of natural gas should also be further reformed.And thirdly，supervision of natural gas industry should be tightened and related laws and regulations should be amplified to ensure the orderly and healthy development of natural gas industry under the circumstance of lowcarbon economy.
