Abstract: In order to cope with the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial reform and to support and serve for the innovation driven development, engineering ethics education needs to be integrated into emerging engineering education in colleges, which is a necessary prerequisite for China to move from a large engineering country to a powerful engineering country. At present, however, engineering ethics education in colleges does not correspond to China's status as a large engineering country, with slow progress and overemphasis on technology over science, and without an established engineering ethics education system. Craftsman spirit, originating from China's ancient engineering ethics, is the treasure of Chinese traditional culture and an integral part of the spiritual pedigree of the Chinese Communists. Integrating the craftsman spirit into the engineering ethics education, and strengthening the cultivation of college students' craftsman spirit, will make it an important approach to ideological education in classroom teaching, an important vehicle for morality building and talent cultivation, and an important support for developing into an engineering power, and contributes to establishment of a new engineering ethics education system with craftsman spirit as the cultural core.
