A CORPUS BASED STUDY OF CHUNKS OF THE HI FREQ ADJECTIVE OTHER

Abstract: Based on the data from the two corpora,an EFL learner essay corpus and a native English speaker corpus,this paper aims to study words chunk of the highfreq adjective other and its teaching,focusing on the differences between EFL learners and native speakers in using the chunks with the highfrequency adjective other as the core,especially the differences between the colligations and collocations of the chunks,and the causes of the differences so as to shed some light on foreign language teaching and learning.
