A Review of Domestic and Overseas Researches on Data Curation

Abstract:

Data curation indicates the processes and activities related to data management and preservation with the capacity to add value to data in the context of E-science. Through close text analysis of the development and current situation of Data Curation at home and abroad, we summarize the definition, procedure researches, application and education about Data Curation, and explore the blank and hot spot in its research. We also find that researches on Data Curation in China are at the starting stage with focuses on overseas researches and their implication for Data Curation researches in China. According to the analysis, we conclude that more efforts should be made in Data Curation research institutes establishment, education, application and interdisciplinary researches for sustainable development of Data Curation in the context of E-science in China.
