Abstract:

Analytical results of heat—treatments and wear tests of four kinds of rock bits are given which are made from different materials. The relation of wear, coefficient of friction，and the variation of temple rature to characteristics of the materials tested as well as the construction of rock bits is determined by model tests on five different kinds of materials.
