Abstract: We discussed how to use the theory of thermoelasticity in the thermal stress analyses in casings of thermal oil recovery in this paper. Also, we pointed out the defects of the theory of one-dimensional thermal expansion. The formulas have been obtained in this paper which are used to compute more accurately the thermal stress in casings of thermal oil recovery.
