Abstract: Sedimentary rock layers are always characterized by a particular seismic response. Therefore, the lithological information can be gained from seismic reflection waves. According to the combination relationship between amplitude,frequency and wave shape of seismic reflection waves,the lithologic characteristic can be predicted by means of microseismic facies analysis and the law of lithofacies change can be explained from a macroscopic angle. Therefore the purpose to divide and describe the sedimentary facies can be achieved by geological method. The examples show that this method is quite feasible.
