Tarim basin is a composite basin with multiple cycles. As the first set of sedimentary cover on the basement,Sinian,Cambrian and Ordivician systems are charaeterized by great thickness and abundant sedimentary types. Lithofacies paleogeographic environment stretches from seastrand to deep sea. Basing on the outcrop seetion, drilling data and the analysis of
carbon-oxygen isotope, trace element, geoehemistry and palaeontology, the feature and distribution of lithofacies paleogeograpic environment in Sinian,Cambrian and Ordivieian periods are analyzed in this paper.

Sedimentary rock layers are always characterized by a particular seismic response. Therefore, the lithological information can be gained from seismic reflection waves. According to the combination relationship between amplitude, frequency and wave shape of seismic reflection waves, the lithologic characteristic can be predicted by means of microseismic facies analysis and the law of lithofacies change can be explained from a macroscopic angle. Therefore the purpose to divide and describe the sedimentary facies can be achieved by geological method. The examples show that this method is quite feasible.

Basing on the principles of geomechanics and rock texture mechanics, this paper discusses the important role of horizontal shear stress in the formation, transformation and distribution of large fracture systems and its physical model. The paper holds that a large fracture system is the product of a larger straight press type fracture network and a shear type fracture network, and is mainly distributed over the zone on which horizontal shear stress and straight press stress jointly act. Horizontal shear stress is the most important factor of transformation and controling the incongruity of large fracture network strueture. So it provides new patterns of forming reservoirs and theoretical basis for researching and finding relatively large concealed fracture system.

Basing on the sensitive analysis of the influence factors in the prediction model of well momentary fluctuation pressure, and the study of well fluctuation pressure and the actual measurement of a full size well, a new prediction model is proposed to predict “the momentary state processing steady state” of the well fluctuation pressure. The model takes into account the influence of fluid compressibility, flow channel elasticity, the empty bottom hole distance under the moving pipes and their longitudinal strain and inertial force. The model can prediet the actual fluetuation pressure value more accurately than the now widely used steady state model, which will be helPful to the scientific hole structure design, the determination of drilling fluid density and the control of the complex problems in a hole.

In the light of the practical conditions of the two wells, an injection profile medifier bas been developed, which has the properties of in situ gelation and adjustable gelation time. A system evaluation has been given to its properties in laboratory through core flooding experiment, and the measurement of gelation time in porous media has been proposed. A good result has been achieved in the in situ modification operation. Thus the oil production increased and the injectivity profiles of the injection wells greatly improved after the modification.

This paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the factors that affect acid fracture productivity, such as production pressure drop, non Darcy effect, reservoir pollution, fracture size and the conductivity change along the fractures, etc, derives and establishes the performance prediction model of 3-D acid fractured well production. Simulation calculation shows that fracture closure stress and rock embedment strength are important factors influencing acid fracturing suitability, and non Darcy effect, reservoir pollution and fracture closure strength will reduce the produetion of wells. However the fracture size and conductivity designed optimumly and resonably will increase the production.

It is an effective way to enhance or recover oil production by increasing the pump setting depth. An assumption is put forward by a western oil field of our country to solve the overload of the horsehead, the over torque of the crank and the over stress of the string by using aluminium sucker rods instead of steel rods in deep well pumping. In this paper, the formula of setting depth of taper rods is derived according to the theory of pumping rod design, and a contrast analysis is made about the calculation result under a series of different technological parameters,Besides the preiiminary study of the feasibility is conducted that aluminium rods are used in deep well pumping.
