Application of Comprehensive Analysis Method of Sedimentary Environment and Multiple Statistics to the Explanation of Sedimentary Facies

Abstract: This paper collects 12 types of seismic paremeters from seismogram, analyzes the sedimentary environment of the low stratum of the S 3 upper member in the TZ area of LH oilfield, and determines the type of sedimentary facies which possibly exists. This paper also divides the seismic measuring lines by the sendimentary facies number with the cluster analysis of the ordered sample method; therefore, the descriminant functions of sedimen-
tary facies in this area are set up. With these discriminant functions, the parameters of seismic measuring lines in this area are discriminated and classified by the method of successive discriminant analysis, and at last the throughgoing of sedimentary facies in this section of bed of interest is made clear. This method, which is proved by analysis and calculation, is very efficient for dividing the sedimentary facies in the areas or basins where
there is a seismogram.
