Abstract: Taking the basic dimensions of the wedge tooth of the cone bit as parameters, the 3D-mathematical models and mechanical models of this kind of tooth have been established on the basis of the key points on a tooth. These models provide a convenient method for the automatic division
of the finite element grids and the forced process analysis of the tooth. This paper has analyzed the variations of the tooth forced process with rock hardness and its positions. The method is better than the concentrating load method for the analysis of the tooth forced process.
