Abstract:

The optimum injection procedure and chemical plug size of alkaline/surfactant/polymer (ASP) used in Block North 1 Daqing oilfield have been designed based on the laboratory formulation and earlier field tests and using the reservoir simulator COMP. Results show that oil recovery based on the slug size and injection precedence of pilot tests has increased by 10% Original Oil In Place (OOIP) by the optimization of increasing the viscosity of ASP system, injecting a secondary surfactant ASP slug, using a small preflush polymer slug and following a gradient buffer. As a result, much attention should be paid to the injecting precedence and slug size in order to enhance the economic effects of ASP technology.
