DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF GAS PIPELINES INFORMATION SYSTEM

Abstract: As the development of information technology,GIS is widely applied in pipeline planning,operation monitoring and emergency management which are related to gas transportation.Among the modes of GIS being developed currently,the quadratic development model based on commercial GIS components is becoming the orientation considering the development cost and efficiency.The authors of this paper discuss the ArcGIS platform which is in the leading situation in the industry,in the design thought and development method of gas pipeline information system.The system uses three-layer C/S structural model,and the visible management,variety of spacial information checking ways and related spacial function analysis of gas pipeline are realized,and also,through the competence management of multiple users,the safety of system data is secured,the system is characterized by centralized management and distributed application,and is useful for improving the working efficiency of the gas transportation management development.
